Wolfram Hiemann: The oilpalm “rush” – the case study NESP Ophir
Wolfram Hiemann started his career with GTZ as a “Projektassistent” in 1979 being posted to the SEDP Team with Bank Indonesia (BI) Branch in Padang. He had first heard about the vacancy by his Professor still at the University in Berlin. During his training days in Uhlhof, he met already our first Team leader Hans Günter Schönwälder.
While in Padang Hiemann continued the cooperation with ADP /Ophir and was assigned as an economist to Ophir from 1986 until 1991.
For family reasons and as a consultant he continued to keep in touch with Ophir developments and West Sumatra ever since.
In Bad Honnef Wolfram gave an introduction speech to his actual Ophir presentation which is also documented on this page.
