You felt like in a beehive. On Friday, May 20, 2016 folks arrived at either the Uhlhof or the Hotel Seminaris from 4 pm onwards. By 6 pm most of us had assembled at Uhlhof.
Colleagues who have not seen each other wondered if its him or her. But now it was time for a lot of re-unions: Mark and Brigitte who had lived in the Sukamenanti complex door to door had not seen each other for the last 30 years. Tina and Sari had arrived already a day earlier from Manila, as had Louis and Emwady from Jakarta. Barbara Massler flew in from Stockholm.
Brigitte Reichelt was supposed to open the Alumni meeting with an introduction of “who is who”, but she was stuck on the motor way due to a traffic accident. Instead Dedo Geinitz performed the role of “Master of Ceremonies”. Starting with our Doyen Karl-Horst Koreuber he passed on the microphone to Hans-Jürgen Schäfer , our long time desk-officer in the BMZ . Greetings were extended by Mrs. Christa Raabe, Mrs. U. Schäfer-Preuss and W. Preuss from BMZ, our former Pimpro Hans Günter Schönwälder, Henner Meyer-Rühen and many others.
The introduction was nearly completed when Martina arrived from Mauritius and and met Thomas, her husband, who had returned from a consultancy in the Caribbean. The crowd was complete after Wolfram Hiemann had made his way from Berlin to the Uhlhof and the Buffet was opened. On Saturday, May 21, after an extended breakfast all the participants gathered at the Uhlhof to listen to the various presentations. The main event ended around 5 pm and all the alumni went down to the Rhein to start the River Cruise to Unkel.
