Ulrich Scholz: How it all started – West Sumatra in pictures
Ulrich Scholz took an early interest in West Sumatra. Having completed his studies in geography and sports he travelled as early as 1968 to Indonesia. He spent close to two years in Indonesia, with a focus on West Sumatra where he got involved in the early days of ADP. He compiled the first planning document on West Pasamanfor German bilateral Technical Assistance in November 1971.
Since then he never lost interest in West Sumatra and its development and returned regularly. He is now a retired Professor for Geography at the University of Gießen.
